The UN International Day of Peace 2025 Interfaith Peace Gathering in New York City.
The Heiwa Peace and Reconciliation Foundation of New York, in collaboration with the Interfaith Center of New York and other supporting organizations, is proud to announce this. It took place on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Tenri Cultural Institute, 43 W. 13th St., NYC, starting at 3:30 PM.
The gathering will feature a Hiroshima and Nagasaki 80th Anniversary Reflection, including a Peace Pilgrimage Tour to Japan (8/1 – 8/11) and a keynote address by H.E. Ambassador Anwarul Chowdhury, former Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the United Nations, and founder of the Global Movement for The Culture of Peace. Peace messages from Hiroshima and Nagasaki will also be shared, followed by a session on inner peace building, cultivating compassion, and an interfaith prayer for peace at 4:30 PM. The event will conclude with a Peace Walk to the Union Square Gandhi statue area at 5:30 PM.
